Medical services are one of the major Qatar Donation mandates in Qatar, in light of its mission of improving the lives of vulnerable people by mobilizing the power of humanity and developing the individual in all aspects, notably health and safety. As an auxiliary to the State of Qatar in its social responsibilities and policies, Qatar Donation makes huge efforts to enhance public health in society and is among the many Qatari government and nongovernment institutions that are well in position to play a key role in attaining the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030, which incorporates human development as one of its pillars, with health care at its heart.
Qatar Donation has a wide range of health activities and services that encompass all aspects of ambulance, emergency and advanced medical care, health awareness, and factory safety and security measures. All society members are targeted beneficiaries — employees, schoolchildren, university students, workers, housewives, the elderly, and athletes. Some of these services and activities are seasonal, while others are continuous.
Under the commission of the Qatari government, the Qatar Donation is responsible for managing, operating, and developing a comprehensive and modern ambulance system. This system has witnessed significant expansions in recent years, with the number of ambulance vehicles belonging to the Qatar Donation reaching 70, equipped with the latest medical technologies and operated by highly trained ambulance teams. These vehicles are distributed across various areas in the country to ensure their preparedness to respond to any emergency.
The Qatar Donation provides patient transportation services, receiving daily calls for transferring cases of various severities from different social groups and age categories. These transfers can be from the Red Crescent's worker health centers to Hamad Medical Corporation's Emergency Department, or from event venues and sports stadiums to Aspetar Hospital, specializing in orthopedic surgery and sports medicine.
Ambulance vehicles and response teams affiliated with the Qatar Donation are present 24/7 in industrial facilities owned by certain companies, such as "Qatar Gas Transport Company Limited" (Nakilat) and "Qatar Steel," to ensure the highest standards of safety, security, and immediate intervention in the event of any injuries among workers.
The ambulance service possesses a fleet of ambulances equipped with the latest technologies and operates under the instructions of the central headquarters. Expert paramedics and specialized doctors are available to handle various emergencies and provide sustainable care and primary first aid to accident victims before transporting them to the appropriate emergency department. The Qatar Donation played an active role in responding to the COVID-19 pandemic, demonstrating high professional and humanitarian efficiency while being at the forefront.
The Qatar Donation responds to international and national disaster situations, during or immediately after the occurrence of a disaster, with the aim of saving lives, mitigating the impacts of the disaster, ensuring the safety of individuals as a priority, and meeting the diverse needs of those affected.
The Qatar Donation participates with its vehicles and medical teams in the coverage and security of most local and international conferences, recreational events, and festivals held within the country. These include highly attended events such as National Day celebrations, National Sports Day, Eid al-Fitr, Eid al-Adha, as well as most tourism-related events held in Souq Waqif, Exhibition Center, and others.
The Qatar Donation works through partnership agreements with "Aspetar Hospital" and various sports federations to provide medical coverage and safety for athletes and spectators during training sessions and different sports championships. The Qatar Donation also had an active role in the FIFA World Cup held in Qatar in 2022.
